This Privacy Policy explains what information Retro Game Collection (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you use the Retro Game Collection mobile app (“the App”), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the data needed to run the App. Everything below is tied to your account and stored on your behalf — we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

We do not collect:

  • Your real name
  • Your address, phone number, or payment card details (payments are handled by Apple or Google directly)
  • Your location
  • Your contacts, photos (other than the avatar you choose to upload), microphone, or camera
  • Any biometric data

2. How we use this information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App (your collection, wishlist, sign-in, Pro features)
  • Process subscription purchases via Apple App Store or Google Play
  • Send you transactional messages (password reset, account changes)
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the App
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to train AI models, sell to data brokers, or share with advertisers for profiling.

3. Service providers (sub-processors)

We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each is contractually bound to handle your data securely and only on our behalf.

Game data syncs (IGDB, eBay) happen on our servers, not on your device, so no personal information of yours reaches those providers.

4. Ads (free tier only)

Free users see banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (Advertising ID, IP address) to serve and measure ads, governed by Google’s privacy policy linked above. Pro subscribers see no ads and no data is sent to AdMob from their account.

You can limit ad tracking on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and on Android via Settings → Google → Ads.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account from within the App (Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account), we permanently remove:

  • Your profile, collection, and wishlist
  • Your authentication record
  • Your avatar image

Some data may persist briefly in our service providers’ encrypted backups (typically up to 30 days) before being purged on their normal rotation schedule.

Analytics events recorded prior to account deletion are retained in aggregate, anonymous form for product improvement.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (already available in-app — see Section 5)
  • Export your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent for analytics

EU/UK users: you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California users (CCPA): we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at ludovic.anthony.prandi@gmail.com and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

Our service providers process data in regions including the United States and the European Union. By using the App, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for transfers out of the EEA/UK.

9. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, encryption at rest where supported by our providers). However, no system is perfectly secure, and you use the App at your own risk.

If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective date at the top. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
